Surface

This painting came from a found piece of wood and a scrap of canvas. I built it, put my famous mixed media on it and let it dry on the heater vent at School for a day. I had forgotten about it for a week and then stumbled across this weird shaped textured piece. I thought it was funny and never really took it too serious during the making. I sanded the sharp edges down of the mixed media and then brushed all of the dust away. I saw it begin to take a form, kind of like looking at clouds. Still not taking it too seriously I scraped of all of the paint from the pallet I was working with on another painting and began pushing the paint into the media with a stiff brush. Eventually I stopped and this painting came to us. It looks like the surface of a rock. A meteor, if you will. Enjoy.
