Space scenes are always fun to paint. Although I would love to create this painting in a much larger image I have a hard time recreating the same piece. I'd love to fill a room with something like this.
During the development of this piece I had no idea of the outcome of this piece. I kept going and would wipe away the paint in order to maintain the main shape. I added a few lines to be suggestive to a form but wanted the viewer to see it for themselves.
Often space scenes are inspired from happy thoughts. The scene is peaceful although hints of the usual chaos is going on in my studio. For example, the two tv's on and a stereo blasting out the music that I felt would inspire me along the creative process. Click on the image to turn it.
