This is the first painting I ever created. I remember the frustrations I went though with this piece. I had no control over the paint and I just kept adding more paint and it seemed like it would never dry. I used the lid of a peanut butter jar to make the circle for the moon.
I'd like to point out that I had been drawing for a number of years prior to painting. Drawing is a very precise skill. The transition, or learning curve into painting finally became easier when I bought some really big brushes and began to get a lot more excited about mixing colors together and using them in unity or against each other.
Color began to be used as dramatic expression and such technical prescision wasn't that important in every one of my paintings.
