This painting was created during a class where I had to create a still life. I set up all of my things that you see in the picture and painted my brains out for about 12 hours. So I was done and ready for the critique the next day. A bit ahead of schedule but I paint fast. So I waited for my professor to show up but he never did. The next day came and still, no Professor. I had some National Geographic's laying around for reference and decided to paint the eagles in. I loved it, my professor didn't like it at all. He told me that I wasn't talking the project seriously.
I glued a piece of tanned leather to the top of the canvas to give it a realistic kind of touch. The color matched perfectly, of course, and it just kind of added to the statement that I was making.
