I painted this while I was taking Fanaticism in Religion at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. During this semester, the Heaven's Gate followers committed suicide which really heightened the conversations in our class.
I was very active in the class and enjoyed the subject very much. I wrote a paper contrasting David Koresh and Jim Jones and did a lot of research on these two nut balls. I wrote an outstanding paper.
I gave a photo of this painting to my instructor and he loved it. Dr. Ross Reed, I believe his name was. When I first saw him in class, I thought he was a homeless person that walked in. I enjoyed the class very much.
