This is the very first painting that I ever created in a scholastic environment. I was nervous in the class. I didn't know what to expect. I was the odd man out with my surrealism. I froze in my first critique. Could barely talk and then finally recovered enough to talk about it a little and answer questions. It was tough.
I've been through, literally, 1,000 critiques now. That is a very big part of getting a Bachelor of Fine Arts. You talk about you work. You listen to what others have to say but realize that they are looking at the work in their perspective. I think that artwork that is created by the artist can be subjected to some unruly punishment and should be taken with a grain of salt.
