The relief's keep getting larger and the theme of the head is continuing. I enjoy this piece a lot and have a lot of photos of the developmental process that spanned over about 6 months.
I play with lights to see the shadows that this piece creates and it is a lot of fun. Some of my art friends have suggested that I get more involved in sculpture and I have. This piece stands alone as far as the Relief Series goes. I am so pleased with this piece I don't think I'd let it go.
The process was long with the blame going to drying times. The mixed media that I've developed requires a few days between applications when it is built up like this and then I have to sand it down or build it up even further. It is all about process with me.
The titanium white oil paint that is over the relief has been polished to a reflective finish and the painting is very smooth to the touch.
