This piece motivated me to painting hearts again. This canvas was treated very differently and has a very smooth surface to it. The paint's surface has reflective qualities. I waited a few weeks to let the oil paint set a little stronger and then I used a small spay bottle to lay a mist of thinner on the entire painting. I then gently blew a fine, metallic gold powder to the surface. Once I was happy with the coverage I used my 10 gallon carbon dioxide tank that I've got hooked up to a broken air brush and manipulated the thinner along with the gold powder. The effects were thrilling! Once it dried I put a very thin coat of spay varnish over it to keep the powder on it. It is a very beautiful piece.
