The colors of this piece was specifically chosen for a couple of reasons. One, I enjoy painting with these colors in the winter because it always brings a warmth to a room in the cold season. The browns, reds and gold mixtures are the primary colors here however there are under tones of blue and greens that darken parts of the canvas that cannot be seen. Mostly at the bottom of the painting to create a sense of gravity or heaviness. The second reason for these colors is that I used the color scheme of my friends, Daniel and Paula's home to create something they would enjoy in their home. They did, very much and they bought it right away. I assisted them in hanging the painting and it has been well received. It fills a large room with the outstretched arms and warmth that both of them have.
