These are my heart paintings. I've been painting hearts for many years. At the beginning of 2010 I moved to Tucson, Arizona and had created 7 heart paintings in 4 months.
The physical heart and the emotional heart are affected when we reflect on relationships, loves lost and love wanted. These photos of my heart paintings all come from my passionate heart and the experiences I've had, dreamed about and still wish for.
The pursuit of love is exciting and has been a part of the energy released during the creation of these heart paintings. The lasting relationships that I've had are explored in this body of work as are flirtatious memories. There is an assortment of heart art that is about the pursuit of a new love. Two hearts together juxtaposition like as if in a dream in many of the heart paintings. Some of the heart paintings are about the turmoil that we all experience with our loved ones. There are a few heart paintings that show a single heart waiting.
I have not include as much personal information on these works individually. It has been my experience to let the viewer connect with the art and let them see what they have been feeling all along.
In the cycle of my painting pattern, I would have to say that these heart paintings fall somewhere at the beginning stages of a long painting run. The oil paint back on my hands and getting familiar places messy and marked with oil paint and chemicals again is almost intoxicating. If one of these paintings has to come out during the end of a painting cycle it gets bogged down with details, color theories I'm playing with and whatever obsession I'm working on in my surreal art.
These heart oil paintings are very genuine. I can't force any of these heart paintings out of me. If you can imagine what it would be like to had something relentlessly knocking on a door in your head then you understand how these get created. Each painting is something inside of me that has to come out.
